Exhibition Aims To Increase Breast Cancer Awareness
Local TTUHSC staff and faculty are coordinating the Art Heals Cancer Awareness Exhibition being held at the Graffiti Building in October. This exhibition is open to all kinds of cancer with an emphasis on breast cancer awareness.

Special Coating Could Enable Long-Term Contact Lens Wear
Ted Reid, Professor of Ophthalmology at TTUHSC in Lubbock, discusses how a metal coating could allow contact lens wearers to keep them in for up to two months.

State-Of-The-Art Simulation Center Opening Soon
The grand opening of the TTUHSC F. Marie Hall SimLife Center and official announcement of the facility's designation as a Laerdal Center of Education Excellence will be held September 10, 2010.

Poison Center Receives Grant For Medication Cleanout Project
The HRSA awarded a three-year grant to the Texas Panhandle Poison Center to expand it Medication Cleanout program, a poison center coordinated program designed to prevent medication-related poisonings, misuse, abuse, and environmental contamination.

Assitant Professor Performs Life Changing Procedure
Dr. Amr Abdelgawad, an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery and rehabilitation at the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine, performed a life changing procedure called limb lengthening on a teenage girl.

Alumni Joins New Practice
Dr. Carolyn Moyers, a TTUHSC Alumni, is joining the practice of Dr. Michael Arnold in Lufkin. She received her post-graduate medical training in obstetrics and gynecology at TTUHSC.

President Tedd L. Mitchell discusses how to enjoy longer, disease-free lives, West Texans need to take steps to stay fit and ward off fat. The public can learn more about preventative medicine at a Community Medical School.
